What you'll learn.

  • Define and become familiar with the fundamentals of bioinformatics and its role in life sciences. 
  • Apply knowledge of different data types to manipulate files through the command-line interface.
  • Understand Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), how it relates to Whole Genome Sequencing, its importance, a typical workflow, and sequence alignment.
  • Analyze NGS data to solve real-life problems, including identifying COVID mutations and variant calling in human genomes.

Payments must be made before the start date of the workshop. The deadline for registrant cancellations for a full refund is three (3) weeks before the workshop unless specifically stated otherwise in writing.

If a cancellation is made within three (3) weeks before the start date, the registrant will be offered a 50% refund or full credit towards a future training program. Cancellations made within the week before the program start date will not be eligible for a refund or credit. Cancellations are accepted by email and must be received by the stated deadlines.

Keck Graduate Institute reserves the right to postpone, cancel, or reschedule a training program due to low enrollment or other circumstances that would make the program non-viable. Should this occur, registrants will be offered a full refund or a credit for a future training program.
